Figures Of The Barge - The Missing

Figures of the Barge - The Missing

Last week we ran a four part series on the Figures of the Barge that have been made to this point. The purpose of that series was to show you the veritable action figure army you already own that will find a home in your HasLab Vintage Collection Sail Barge. We hope it enticed at least a few of you to #backthebarge. If you missed that series, a collected recap can be found HERE. This next entry in the series serves as the first of a two-part epilogue. It focuses on figures that Hasbro could make if the Sail Barge goes into production. Some of the figures listed below will likely never see the light of day without the Barge campaign reaching its goal, so please do your part and spread the word.

In the diorama mock-ups that follow, the Vintage Collection VC45 Clone Trooper was used as a stand-in for two reasons. The white armor serves to highlight the missing figures while that figure is also highly posable. When possible, we used state-of-the-art head-swap technology to really bring the visual home. Each section is followed by mock-ups of what a Vintage Collection card might look like. (Click on the image for the full sized version.) Note that in the case of unnamed characters, we used some artistic license in the name pills.

Finally, these scenes follow in chronological order of the film. As as matter of coincidence, that means the absolute highest priority figure comes at the end. So be patient. Don't say "daym" if you don't see your most wanted figure right away. Let's begin.

Geezum, Fozec and Yoxgit

Geezum Fozec Yoxgit
They don't want to stare, but they know C-3PO is about to clutz it up.

The trio above are some of the many denizens of Jabba's palace who take an ill-fated trip on The Khetanna. Fozec has routinely placed high on wish lists. Since Geezum could re-use the Snivvian head from the Vintage Collection Snaggletooth, some are surprised that figure remains unmade. The same goes for Yoxgit which could re-use the head from the Legacy Collection Ugnaught's running change.

Rayc Ryjerd

Rayc Ryjerd
Something bad happened to other people, so everyone leans in for a laugh.

VC45 Mock Up
Once again, the VC45 Clone stands in for Rayc Ryjerd on the left.

Jabba's Sail Barge was a cornucopia of exotic characters. It featured crocodile men, lizard men, yak men, and walking vegetables. Oh, and Asians. It was the 80's and that kind of racism was not only tolerated, it was mildly encouraged. Non-Jedi human characters only have a longshot of being realized as action figures unless they play an important role in the plot. Background humans never get made with the exception of ICMG. Even if the Sail Barge campaign is a success, Rayc is a longshot, but a follow up-campaign that was a box set of Barge passengers would be pretty sweet.

Shasa Tiel

Shasa Tiel
Why do all the passengers cram for space around the tiny slitted windows instead of going on deck?

Our head swapperator does not work on POTF2 figures.

Shasa Tiel in our M.I.A.F. Database

The figure above is not Shasa Tiel. That figure is the Freeze Frame POTF2 figure of the unidentified Ishi Tib from Home One. Shasa Tiel has never been made as an action figure. She features prominently in the palace, which is detailed in the M.I.A.F. link above. But this is about the Barge and not the palace. Shasa is seen here peering out the window with her pals Tessek and Ree-Yees. A successful Barge campaign would bode well for our first ever Sasha Tiel figure, one would think.

Unidentified Weequay Guard

We got a great reaction to the cardboard barge, so it returns.

Sometimes referred to as the "Window Weequay", this unnamed character has oft been requested. It's hard to imagine this figure even getting made without the Sail Barge. It would be an "unhomed" figure otherwise. Conversely, if the Barge campaign is successful, you could see this figure rocket to the top of Hasbro's "to do" list.

Unidentified Human Guard

Unidentified Human Guard
"Unidentified human" is Star Wars for "red shirt."

Unidentified Human Guard Mock Up
Even with the Clone armor, that poor soul wouldn't have stood a chance against Luke on a rampage.

Unidentified Human Guard in our M.I.A.F. Database

In a Barge-less world, you could die happy without this unidentified human guard being made into an action figure. In a Barge-full world, not getting this figure would be like listening to the first five notes of Shave and a Haircut on a loop.

Unidentified Human Gunner

Leia joins the Skywalker family tradition of mowing down Jabba's henchmen.

In this case, that Clone armor might actually do some good.

This unidentified gunner takes over the position being manned by Vizam until Luke ran him through. He probably thinks he's in the clear after Luke sets his sights on more alien looking targets, but Luke's sister finishes the job.

Taym Dren-garen

Taym Dren-garen
Because the Emperor insisted on toying with his prey, this is as close as anyone would ever come to killing Luke Skywalker.

Taym Dren-garen mock up
Please forgive the incorrect hat.

Taym Dren-garen in our M.I.A.F. Database

With or without the Barge, Taym Dren-garen is long overdue. He is the guard who shoots Luke in his prosthetic hand, which would lead to Taym's immediate death at the business end of a green laser sword. It's a good thing that he had terrible aim, otherwise Return of the Jedi would have been a thirty minute film.

Conclusion

We've already looked at 33 existing figures that would have a place on, in, or around your Sail Barge. Here are nine more figures that Hasbro not only could make if the Sail Barge campaign is successful, some of them probably become instant priorities. So if you really want these figures, the surest way to seeing them made is to #backthebarge. If you've already backed the barge, FB share and Tweet this article and all other Sail Barge related articles on social media. We need to get word out to as many people as possible.
