I hadn’t realized this until I had to do the research for this review - or maybe I knew it at some point and then forgot.  IG-11 was the Assassin droid that debuted in The Mandalorian Season 1, and was reprogrammed by Kuiil to be Grogu’s nanny, before sacrificing himself in a game of The Floor is Lava.  His rescued parts were made into a statue, honoring his sacrifice, in Nevarro City.  The parts were then pulled from the statue, and an attempt was made to resurrect IG-11.  When he was reactivated, he had his original assassin programming, and tried to kill Grogu, but his head was smashed and he was destroyed (again).  What was left of him was rebuilt (again) by the Anzellans to be a mech suit for Grogu, at which point it was renamed IG-12.  During the battle on Mandalore, the IG-12 mech was destroyed (again), after the suit had successfully protected Grogu from the Praetorian Guard.  Somehow, even though the Imperial base was incinerated, Din Djarin secured some of the remaining parts (again) and brought them back to Nevarro.  After securing another IG head, the Anzellans rebuilt the droid (again), and this time he was re-renamed IG-11, and became the Marshal of Nevarro.  He was then destroyed (again) by a falling Acme anvil, but rebuilt by the Anzellans as IG-13, where he served as the “Aesthetician to the Stars”, among Nevarro City’s Elite.  He then drowned in a pool at a massive party held at the home of Abe Froman, Sausage King of Chicago.  He was once again rebuilt by the Anzellans and named IG-00, and he became coach of the New York Jets.  It was at this point that the Anzellans retired from the droid repair business, and became sex workers on Tatooine.

Anyway, this is a repainted version of the previously released IG-11 / IG-12 figures.  We already pretty much know it, and you’ll get all the details from those reviews.  As such, his articulation and possibility is outstanding.  Although he lacks rocker ankles, he can still pose very well.  He’s got great balance and looks great in a display.  He’s got 21 points of articulation, 4 of which are his various head parts, as well as 3 different joints on his torso.

This figure is repainted to look like the version of IG-11 as he briefly appeared near the final moments of Season 3 of The Mandalorian.  As far as I can tell, we never see his legs, which are “unpainted” in much the same way as they were for IG-12.  I’m honestly not sure is this is a cheaping out decision by Hasbro, or if this is what’s supposed to be, but I don’t see a good look on screen to determine either way.  However, we do get a good look at his arms.  I’m not sure where Hasbro got the black elbows from, as his elbows appear to be the silver/gunmetal color as is the majority of his body.  And for that matter, his forearms are unpainted on the figure, but also appear to be that same gunmetal color.  So I’m not sure what’s happening with that.  I really don’t care enough about the character to be bothered by this potential inaccuracy, but I might be mildly frustrated if Hasbro did this on purpose to save a half a cent of paint.

He comes with a new accessory, which is a belt and holster assembly.  It looks cool in this “sheriff”, and it accommodates the included pistol - which has a painted handle!  IG-11 can “grip” the blaster, albeit gingerly in his weird mechanical claw.  VC206 IG-11 came with a rifle and a blaster, as well as his bandolier, so you might feel a little underwhelmed by the value here.

So I’ll give it an 8/10, which is the same score I (theoretically) gave the IG-12 mech suit as a standalone figure separate from that trio with Grogu and the Anzellan (I gave the set a 9/10 because it’s adorable).  The points are deducted for the missed paint apps.  I’m not sure how inspiring this guy is to collectors, and Hasbro seemingly shoehorned in a repainted TV Mandalorian figure amongst a bunch of Movie Mandalorian figures.  Whatever.  It’s not bad, just not that exciting.
