The first Star Wars: Force for Change campaign will raise funds and awareness for UNICEF’s Innovation Labs and its innovative projects benefiting children in need. As was announced earlier, the campaign gives you a chance to be in Episode VII, but now JJ Abrams ups the ante with a chance for an early screening of the finished movie in this new video which features an X-Wing like vehicle. A real one. Not a CGI one.
One of the high points of the collector calendar is San Diego Comic Con which starts this week. We’ve polled our forums to see what they hope to see at the show. Hit the read more link to get a sense of the Bantha Skull collecting pulse. The preview image is a huge hint.
Comic Book Movie has a preview of Zare Leonis, a cadet in the Imperial Army turned spy. A familiar trend with Rebels, Leonis sports the helmet from the McQuarrie snowtrooper.
Last year, our friends at Imperial Shipyards reported that the Imperial Troop Transport would be making an appearance in Star Wars Rebels. Now Bantha Skull reader Lando Griffin has provided unequivocal confirmation. Hit the read more link to see what he learned.
If you are averse to sappy sentimentalism, run, don’t walk, away right now. Bantha Skull has recently been listed in the community section of the official Star Wars site. Please hit the read more link below if you would like to know what this means to someone who grew up Star Wars.
Georgia Bulldog wide receiver Chris Conley is an epic Star Wars nerd hero. Not only is the 6’3” star a beast on the gridiron, he is a huge Star Wars fan and created a 26 minute Star Wars fan film this off-season:
Jason Isaacs of Blackhawk Down and The Patriot fame is confirmed as the voice of the Inquisitor in Rebels.
We’re combining this collection feature with a bit of site news. Bantha Skull is now curse word free across the entire site. The front page has always been family friendly, but the forums were a bit more raucous. The forums now employ curse word censoring which therefore allows us to feature forum content on the front page.
With that, as collectors we always appreciate focused collections that have a take no prisoners attitude towards completion. Please take a look at SithMan’s museum quality autograph collection that covers every inch of the saga.
If you are a Toys R Us Rewards member, keep your eye on your mailbox. The back to school (??) sales flyer sports a coupon good for 20% off any regularly price item from 7/18 until 8/9.
Every good fanboy knows that there is no way that the Sarlacc could contain Boba Fett, but now Star Wars historian, J.W. Rinzler, confirms that in an Reddit AMA (whatever the devil that is).
I have been in meetings with George where he confirms that Fett survived. If it comes from George then it’s true!
Thanks to our own BIGJIM for the heads up on this. The code JULY10 will get you $10 off a $50 purchase at Hasbro Toy Shop.
Have you ever know someone who loses weight over time and you never appreciate it while they’re on their journey, but then you see the before and after pictures and you’re amazed? The dramatic leap in the graphics for Battlefront 3 is like that for me. I didn’t appreciate it until the Battlefront Network compared the graphics in this video. If you’re not amazed at the progression of the Stormtrooper, I will punch you in the mandible which I can only assume is a sensitive part of the male anatomy.
As you know by now, there are five Vintage Collection figures that either have been or will be re-released in the Black Series, but today we ask “where the heck is Ponda Baba?” and we also provide some basic supply side analysis.
