San Diego Comic Con 2014 Wishlist

One of the high points of the collector calendar is San Diego Comic Con which starts this week.  We’ve polled our forums to see that they hope to see at the show.  Here’s what will make SDCC ‘14 a success for the Bantha Skull collecting community .  Please note these are things beyond the confirmed re-launch 18 figures which we assume will be shown.

• Vintage Collection.  Vintage Collection.  Vintage Collection-  No matter the form, our readership is starved for a return of the Vintage Collection.  The hopes range from a full blow Vintage Collection main line (yes please) to the mere announcement of a Vintage Collection exclusive.  To borrow a Hollywood trope, simply seeing the the currently flat lined Vintage Collection EKG blip back to life, would be a celebration whether that is a weak pulse or full resuscitation.  Along the lines of the of Vintage Collection exclusives…
• Darth Vader’s TIE Advanced (X1)- There has been an persistent rumor that an all new Darth Vader’s TIE Fighter is in the works.  At this point the POTF2 mold is 14 years old.  To put that in perspective, when the POTF2 line was launched, it was only 10 years removed from the vintage Kenner line.  We would love to see this iconic vehicle shown in glorious Vintage Collection packaging.
• Yak Face- As we have mentioned many times, we asked Hasbro if they could ever release a replica of the POTF ‘85 bi-lingual Yak Face to US stores.  The answer was no and the best we would see is a retconned Episode VI card for Yak Face.  Wouldn’t the announcement of a mail away all new Yak Face on a replica of it’s Canadian POTF ‘85 card be a great promotion to herald the arrival of Episode VII?
• The next round of K-Mart exclusives-  Sticking with the trend of Vintage Collection exclusives, we would like to see the K-Mart series extended with at least one unmade OT figure announced. 
• Unannounced 6” line reveals-  Our readers are hoping to see a 6” Jango Fett and 501st Clonetrooper.
• Any heretofore unmade OT character

The above all seem reasonable in some form.  But this is a wish list and as long as we hold the genie lamp…

• A modular Death Star playset
• Jabba’s Sail Barge The Khetanna
• A 6” Blackhole Stormtrooper 2-pack- Don’t be mad.  The reader who submitted this is European.
• A return of the full GI Joe line - Not Star Wars, but a frequent wish.
