In a pinch-hitting role today at The Hasbro New York Toy Fair Event, I interviewed Jeff Labovitz, the Global Marketing Director, Star Wars at Hasbro. I’ve had very brief interactions with him at past events, but this was the first interview I’ve done with him (or anyone for that matter.) Jeff was very pleasant to talk to, and while I certainly wasn’t carrying on hard-hitting journalism, I do hope that I conveyed to him some of the feelings our Banthaskull community is experiencing regarding the line. I want to thank Jeff for taking the time to focus on my questions and providing me with some insight behind the scenes of Hasbro Star Wars.
Okay, I misunderstood earlier when I said no Black Series product was shown. We just didn’t have the pics yet. Here are 66 images from the showroom including pics of REE-YEES and SGT. DOALLYN. I’m so happy I can’t feel my arms. Oh yeah and there might be a 6” scale Jabba in there too.
Prepare to be underwhelmed. No Black Series product was on display regardless of the scale.
Just a reminder that we are getting live updates from inside the Toy Fair presentation on our Live Blog. The Star Wars presentation hasn’t started yet, but they’re already through My Little Pony and Transformers and currently on Kreo.
Unfortunately I won’t be traveling to New York City today due to winter storm Quintus. But don’t fear. We will still be represented at the event by “nomadscout” who has covered Toy Fair every year since Bantha Skull’s inception. He will be keeping you up to date in real time via our Toy Fair Live Blog. Mother nature has foiled our plans for team coverage, but will still try to get you the information as soon as possible.

USA Today has revealed the upcoming Karan figure in advance of Toy Fair. Continuing Hasbro’s trend of copying Mattel and their hugely successfully minimally articulated Green Lantern and Superman figures, the figure sports 5 points of articulation.

The site Hit Flix is reporting that Star Wars Episode VII will shoot from May through September and that the principal casting is complete. The fact that principal casting is complete is a bit of a surprise since no confirmations have been made directly by the production team.
