This is pretty exciting to me, but I doubt this will still be available by the time I get home from work. I hate the prequel trilogy as a whole and I cannot overstate that. But I do think the broad strokes of the plot are decent and I very much enjoy segments of each movie. This story could easily have been told in a single move, and now an industrious editor has done just that (with a lot less Jar Jar):
There is a Kickstarer crowd funding campaign afoot for the post production of what looks like a fascinating documentary on the extras in Star Wars called Elstree 1976. There are some pretty impressive perks for various contribution levels including a Jeremy Bulloch signed screen accurate Boba Fett helmet. If you are not sucked in by the preview below, get out! Get out now!
We were first alerted to this news bit by forum moderator Duke. Bob Iger has confirmed that three Star Wars spin-offs are being planned which supposedly don’t tie into narrative of the sequel trilogy. Unfortunately, the subject matter of two of the three films is rumored to be young Han Solo and young Yoda with a Boba Fett movie completing the trifecta.
Am I the only one that cringes at the “young” prospects. Did the PT teach us nothing that taking characters all the way back to being zygotes complete destroys the mystery of these characters that made them fan favorites in the first place. I’m shocked to say this, but I definitely might be skipping these movies in the theater if the subject mater comes to fruition.
Big Bad Toy Store’s spring clearance is still in effect and they’ve updated the list of their latest pre-orders (including the four wheel items mentioned below). Hit the read more link for their full list of deals and latest offerings.
As first reported by our friends at Jedi Temple Archives, Star Wars Hot Wheels are now confirmed. Site sponsor Big Bad Toy Store has two different Star Wars Hot Wheels products available for pre-order. One is a case of Star Wars Character Cars and the other is a case of 4 Star Wars “Racing Tracks” (presumable a car and track). Both are in the 1:64 scale.
The image below is not the basis of the actual product. It’s just an estimate of what the character cars might look like. This is a Darth Vader custom car from West Coast Customs.
Our own Darth Dre alerted us that Aint It Cool News had confirmed the working title of Episode VII, but the AICN story contained a profanity, so I wasn’t comfortable linking to it from our family friendly front page.
Now the Huffington Post has picked up the story, so you can read about the title that plays on “A New Hope” without being subjected to TV-14 talk.
As everyone but a few angry internet reactionaries knew, the casting for Episode VII is not complete. The Examiner reports that Lupita Nyong’o is still up for a role. But it wouldn’t be the internet if we didn’t overreact to a tiny bit of information that we incorrectly extrapolate into a larger message.
Now that we have things sorted, I can stop referring you to other sites for the Star Wars Day reveal photos. We have the high resolution images loaded here. Don’t forget to click on the opposing arrows on the picture box to view the image in its original size. They’re enormous.
The inimitable Fly Guy has uploaded some high resolution images of the recently revealed 6” Yoda and Jabba the Hutt. This Yoda keeps getting better and better (sorry Mire).
The pics are also uploaded by Jedi Temple Archives to their Facebook page. Apparently Hunter PR has made the pics available, but our Communications Officer (Mr. Nomadscout) is very busy.
To celebrate Revenge of the Fifth, the official Star Wars Instagram page has revealed that a 6” Black Series Yoda is coming via a short video. It looks pretty sweet.
