The Darth Malgus wave continues to show up. My daily lunchtime toy run, which I have maintained out of tradition and not because it usually bears fruit, was actually productive today. I managed to find a single case of the Darth Malgus wave with the impossible to army build Imperial Navy Commander. They continue to ring up under the same DPCI code since 2010 (087-06-1351).
As proof, please see the attached photo which also proves I still can’t take a decent camera phone picture.
Starting with Episode VII, Star Wars will dominate movie theaters every summer starting in 2015. This doesn’t mean Episode VIII is coming out in 2016, they’re still taking 2-3 years for the saga sequels. But filling in between will be the standalone films.
This isn’t exactly news, as it was pretty much assumed until Disney and LFL officially announced it at Cinemacon in Las Vegas.
Hurry! Click through to order one of the hardest to find figures from 2012. Special thanks for forum member Greg for calling attention to this news via Jedi Temple Archive to whom we also give special thanks. Volkerc at Star Wars Figuren does it again and lists the case breakdowns for the first two wave of 3 3/4” Black Series figures (among other product). An early front runner for peg warmer of the year has emerged. It’s a figure that has peg warmed in almost every incarnation, so packing it heavily in the first two cases is just fantastic.
Filmbuffonline.com has an exclusive article about Williams’ appearance at the Monster Mania convention in New Jersey, where he admitted he has been asked to reprise his role as lovable scoundrel Lando Calrissian. They have further information that indicates he was contacted only in the last week about the role, and that he is as yet unsure if he will be returning to the galaxy far, far away.
The official site confirms the status of the Clone Wars as well as a “New Direction” for Lucasfilm Animation in which the are “exploring a whole new Star Wars series set in a time period previously untouched in Star Wars films or television programming”.
Bloomberg Businessweek provides a fascinating breakdown of LFL purchase by Disney including some interesting revelations such as exactly when Michael Arndt was secured to pen the script for Episode VII as well as when Fisher and Ford signed on (the signing of Fisher being the worst kept secret in the history of entertainment).
In a Q&A with Palm Beach Illustrated, Carrie Fisher has confirmed her return as Princess Leia in the upcoming Star Wars sequel.
Can you confirm whether you’ll reprise the role of Princess Leia?
Yes.
What do you think Princess Leia is like today?
Elderly. She’s in an intergalactic old folks’ home [laughs]. I just think she would be just like she was before, only slower and less inclined to be up for the big battle.
While some of us are geeking out about finding fresh cases of year old Vintage Collection figures, forum moderator, BIGJIM, takes the cake as far as finding old stock at current retail goes. Check out Jim’s surprising find at this local Marc’s discount store. To put it in perspective this is about the equivalent of finding POTF ‘85 figures in a store when POTF2 launched in 1995.
The recent reemergence of the Deleted Scene wave has hit Massachusetts. I picked up 4 of the 5 Deleted Scene figures at a local Toys R Us for a whopping total of $15.90 with tax!
