We just received report on Facebook from Devin G. that he spotted the Rebels vehicles at his Toys R Us in New Jersey.  Our previous report had them hitting Las Vegas, so they are slowly but surely getting closer to yours truly.  Click through for the full sized pic of Devin’s score.

The march of Vader Week is as relentless as the Sith Lord himself.  Today we continue with 2000’s Power of the Jedi Dath Vader (Dagobah) representing the ephemeral phantom Vader from the Dark Side cave on Dagobah.  Fourteen years later and I still like this figure.

Considering the dubious figures in the case, it’s hard to call this hunting success, but one of my local Walmarts stocked Black Series 3.75” wave 4.  Unlike Target, Walmart isn’t “escared” of taking full cases.  All 12 figures were present, four of which are likely to never sell.

Vader Week continues with 1999’s CommTech Darth Vader figure with IT-O Interrogator droid. We review the only Vader figure intended to intimidate instead of fight with a lightsaber.

Even though my local Toys R Us completed their reset, it seems they’re still tweaking as we get closer to the Rebels release.

We continue our Throwback Review Vader Week with 1999’s Flashback Darth Vader with Lightsaber.  Somehow the inclusion of the lighsaber was worth marketing on the package.  This is Hasbro’s follow up to 1998’s removable helmet Darth Vader and you know what they say.  The sequel is never as good as the original.

Well, after seeing the report by our friends over at JTA and Yakface about vehicle two packs showing up at retailers like Ollies and Kmart, I decided to take a swing by my local Big K after work and test my luck. As you can see in the picture below…

I frequently check completed auctions on Ebay to see if anything is starting to creep up in value.  Due to its limited release and on-line only availability, the Vintage Collection Emperor’s Royal Guard has always fetched a premium, but when an Emperor's Royal Guard recently sold for $85, I was shocked.  Admittedly the final prices are typically in the mid $50 range, but this recent auction could start pushing the value.  Time to get this figure back on the market, Hasbro.

Site sponsor Big Bad Toy Store has the latest Rebels Saga Legends figures available for pre-order for October delivery.  The one month window between pre-order and fulfillment is vaguely reminiscent of life during the tail end of the Legacy Collection.

We’re going to make this week of Throwback Reviews a Vader Week.  If the Discovery Channel can do Shark Week, we can do this where we look back on five Vader (or Vader related) figures.  We kick off the festivities with a landmark figure that has not aged well.  I give you 1998’s Freeze Frame Darth Vader with Removable Helmet.
