Stormtroopers are about to invade the small screen in a few days, so it makes sense that their merchandising counterparts are flooding the nation’s largest retailer. We received this report of both the Jakks Pacific and 6” Black Series Stormtroopers hitting the same Walmart store en masse. Click through for the full sized image.
A trip to my local Walmart forces me to admire their dogged perseverance when it comes to their clearance policy.
Considering the dubious figures in the case, it’s hard to call this hunting success, but one of my local Walmarts stocked Black Series 3.75” wave 4. Unlike Target, Walmart isn’t “escared” of taking full cases. All 12 figures were present, four of which are likely to never sell.
Resets bring promise that new footprints that will usher some much needed product to brick and mortar retail. Unless you shop at Walmart that is…

This struck me funny. You may have seen me whining about how most of the stores in my area have not been carrying the 3.75” Black Series line in 2014. There was one out of the way Walmart store that did consistently stock Black Series figures, however. Now that the fall resets are returning Black Series to almost every store, that one store, that had been consistently carrying the line, deleted the pegs and placed the figures on “clearaints”. In a direct sign of the distribution log jam at brick and mortar retail, we’re still getting reports of fresh cases of Black Series Wave 2 showing up at northeast Walmart stores. Click through for the full sized image.
While some Walmart stores didn’t literally stop allocating space for the 3.75” Black Series line as Target did, they did effectively did the same thing by not taking any inventory. We are receiving reports that the pipeline is finally opening up at Walmart stores for the collector line, but it may indicate the warehouse back-up we have heard about. It’s time for another schadenfreude clearance report. Those poor shampoo bottle 12” figures can’t catch a break. Despite supposedly having a following among the younger crowd and some stores not taking a lot of inventory, they sure do end up on clearance a lot.
This item isn’t “new”, but it’s new to most Walmart stores. Click through to find out what is now showing up at smaller Walmart stores.
In what probably foretells the upcoming reset and not a harbinger of the collector line’s prophesied doom, the 3.75” Black Series line is on clearance at some Walmart stores. The only reason this bears watching is that there is one more orange card wave before the line transitions to TIE Fighter Pilot cards, so the clearance seems a bit premature.
A local Walmart currently has the most Black Series 3.75” I have ever seen in one place to date.
The fact that the ROTS 3D Saga Legends are in WM clearance sections (at full price) is old news. But it only occurred to me today that I should be angry about this.
Like many of us, I plan my work commute so that I can come close to a Walmart or Target. What I saw today is argument for a more direct route to the salt mine.
Check the clearance aisles, Jedi Temple Archives says. New figures are showing up in the clearance aisle, they say. Well if JTA lives in Hasbro-topia, I’m on the planet it’s farthest from. Click through to see the big prize waiting for me when I checked my Walmart clearance aisle today.
