Our friends at Jedi Temple Archives have reviewed production samples or the upcoming 3.75” Black Series wave 5 (scheduled for September in the US). If you haven’t done so already, I urge you to take a look.
It took most of my morning, three Targets and one very nice associate, but my Sunday mission of tracking down the 6” deluxe figures was a success. Only one Target in my area received these and they only had one case.
Our friends at Yakface are reporting that the 18 figure “re-launch” case for the Black Series 3.75” line has been cancelled. This marks the second time that solicitations for an atypical cases size were taken and then soon cancelled. The 8 figure 6” line assortment received a similar fate.
I know I’m stating the obvious here, but a look at Black Series pre-orders shows that the line is absolutely ground to a halt.
This comes due to a timely heads up from our friends at Jedi Temple Archives. The Walgreens exclusive prototype Boba Fett is up for pre-order on walgreens.com. These probably won’t last long.
A new e-tailer called Beyond Mortality Toys is offering pre-orders for the fall Black Series figures for below MSRP. Ree Yees, Starsher and the big 18 for $8.92. 6” Boba Fett for $16.99. Wow.
Thank you to Darth Chuck MC for the heads up on this.
Update: We just received the following from Martin, the owner of Beyond Morality Toys: “I’ve been striving to make our prices the best on the web, and right now through the end of the month there’s 15% off store wide and free shipping to the US and Canada!”
By now you’ve seen the list of the initial 18 figures that will appear for the launch of the Black Series refresh packaging either here or at our friends Jedi Temple Archives. The figure roster has been met with some consternation by some, but we here at Bantha Skull think it’s a pretty smart play by Big H. Hit the read more link for our quick analysis.
As a site based on the ultimate Mandolorian Warrior, what good would we be without a ubiquitous and clandestine net of spies circling the system. We dispatched our crack Madnalorian recon team to San Diego to see if they could learn which Star Wars characters were lurking around potentially auditioning for the 3.75” line. As you can imagine, the intelligence game is not one that paints a definitive picture, so we may be slightly off in the details, but did we mention this is a crack team.
First, you probably already saw the big Black Series news at our friends at Jedi Temple Archives about the massive 18 figure assortment that will launch the blue highlighted Tie Fighter Pilot Black Series cards. In addition to that, they have identified some of those 18 figures here.
Some of the figures have been rumored or shown at Toy Fair. Some are desperately needed re-releases. And one in particular has me very excited. I will just leave you with “50,000. No less.”
Rebelscum has posted some high resolution images of Wave 4 of the 3.75”. I’m thrilled that I was incorrect about (not) Starsher lacking ankle articulation, but unfortunately this confirms that Ree Yees does. A Ree Yees figure needs to be able to crouch over the Racnor pit mocking the victims. Without ankle articulation, that post will be difficult.
Andrew’s Toys uploaded a carded pic of the upcoming white jumpsuited skiff guard from the second skiff to their Facebook page. That character is named Brock Starsher, but most fans know him as Seargeant Doallyn as he was erroneously called for year. Seargeant Doallyn actually the henchman who gets thrown down the stairs in the palace. Hasbro punted on this potential naming controversy and decided to go with a generic title on the card.
By way of full disclosure, I first saw this on Jedi Temple Archives.
Our own Darth Dre broke out his Fedora with the press credentials tucked in the band and did some digging. He may have sussed out the exact release date. Hit the jump for the details.
