It seems like every livestream the subject of pitching troop builder packs comes up, and every time I freeze up like Ralphie talking to Santa.
As I was writing about needing an Endor Soldier and Rebel Pilot troop builder pack, I had this nagging feeling that I was forgetting an obvious option. So when Tannith post THIS COMMENT:
My most-wanted pack is still the Bespin Guards, including 4 characters from the movie. Bislav Merril, Corman Jeihn, Bialar Selis, and one of the white guys that beats on Han (Jerrol Blendin or Jan Derem). No matter what, it MUST include Merril. He's the most prominent guard they've never done by far.
My reaction was similar to Jerry finding out that Dr. Sitarides treats skin cancer:
OF COURSE BESPIN GUARDS! It was actually at the top of my list, but again, for some reason, I have a mental block when it comes to pitching troop builder packs. The best part is that I think there are four named Bespin Guards that are a natural fit, but one is controversial:
Corman Jeihn is the guard standing directly behind Lobot in the column of Bespin Guards that greet Han and crew on the Cloud City landing platform. If you want to accurately recreate this scene, you need a Jeihn. I know that doesn't rhyme. I'm no Randy.
Bialar Selis is on my list for the exact same reason as Corman Jeihn. He's clearly visible as part of the landing platform scene to the side of Lando. As an added bonus, Selis is standing next to Helder Spinoza when Lando springs the ambush on Lt. Sheckil, who I hope is also part of an Imperial Officer troop builder pack some day.
Together with Isdam Edian, Bislav Merril escorts the Han-sicle through Cloud City. He is needed as the companion piece to that Edian figure. Not having a Merril figure is as annoying as losing disc 2 of Journey's Greatest Hits and then you have to go buy Stone in Love on iTunes like an idiot.
Some of your did your best Vader "no" scream seeing this. Pedar Solardo is the card image on the vintage Kenner Helder Spinoza Bespin Guard. You can read about it HERE. So ideally, Solardo would come individually carded so we get a modern counterpart to the vintage Kenner card, but I fear the ship has sailed for now on carded Bespin Guards (even though the previous two have now sold out twice). I'd rather get a Solardo figure in a troop builder pack than not get one at all.
