It’s been 18ish months since I wrote the article From Tank Driver To Mudtrooper and us U.S. collectors finally have Din and Migs in hand, and I must say their likenesses are nothing but uncanny. These are also great examples of smart leveraging of tooling. Yes, the shoulder armor is not 100% correct and the figures don’t have updated rocker ankles, but these are compromises that get us new figures on a prudent budget.

This article was no AH HA! moment. When we all witnessed the iconic Chapter 15: The Believer of The Mandalorian, we hardcore collectors saw, with the debut of the Juggernaught Pilot, a path to the oft-requested Mudtrooper figure for TVC. If Din and Migs were done correctly, we could then see Mudtroopers, either as generic soldiers or even Han Solo in disguise from Solo. It could even result in a troop builder set. Many collectors have already made customs to show how easily a Mudtrooper could be made by using the 5 POA Han Solo (Mudtrooper) . Here’s my own custom in a very professionally taken photo on the sands of my kitchen counter.

Hopefully, the torso’s tooling can be re-used to attach breathing mask hoses to the upper back. I’m not sure if the 5 POA Mudtrooper helmet is big enough but, if it is, then it can be used along with the goggles and breathing mask. Finally, Hasbro should provide a soft goods hooded cape, which avoids additional updates to the torso’s tooling and allows for more poseability of the figure without hinderance from a rubbery/plastic cape.

We are also seeing Mudtrooper fatigues/armor being repurposed in the upcoming Andor series, and we’ve seen them revealed already (sigh) for The Black Series (more sigh). So giddy-up Hasbro! You’re up to bat, stop taking pitches, and swing away so we can get even more figures!

So what do you all think? Will Hasbro make a Mudtrooper? Seeing these brand new characters, like Imperial Officer (Ferix) and Cassian Andor (Aldhani Mission), that can generate even more return on this tooling sure gives me hope for the possibility.
