One of our favorite features at Banthaskull is "Scene It," in which we take a very detailed look at an iconic set piece, scene, or even a single still from Star Wars films and breakdown all the best available action figures, vehicles, and environmental pieces necessary to recreate it. This allows you to showcase the world-building aspect that is so deeply woven into the fabric of 3.75" collecting. It not only serves as a recipe to help you complete the scene with items you may be missing from your collection, but also spotlights another of our features, "Missing in Action Figure," which further describes key elements of those scenes that lack toy representation.
"Complete the Crew" is a new feature that seeks to simply highlight the various crews, squads, teams, groups, units, or families from the films that we would like to properly display somewhere in our collections, even if just on our desks. "Crews" may vary in size and source, and may also vary in level of completeness (from being a single figure short to being altogether absent). Regardless, we hope to highlight those groups of characters that we think would make a lot of collectors very happy once they are 100% available in the One True Scale.
For our first entry, we will look at a crew that we already featured in Scene It: The Prisoner Skiff.
This crew got a lot of love recently, either coinciding with, or in the aftermath of, the release of the Sail Barge. The big one was Vedain, the first character debut from the OT since 2014's Mosep Binneed. Furthermore, several of the others (Luke, Lando, Boba Fett) were recently given significant improvements over earlier versions. Weequay is currently a candidate in Hasbro's Vote from the Vault. You'll also notice that only the 2008 sandstorm Chewbacca* predates The Vintage Collection. We even got an upgraded Skiff vehicle! So we have 8 of 9 figures (9 of 10 if you count the late-arriving Boba Fett) that we can display.
Have you seen this man?
So who’s missing? Here’s a hint: his name rhymes with Shmelken. Nope, guess again! Yes, that’s right, it’s Velken Tezeri! This guy is the only character from this iconic crew who is missing a figure, and his absence is now even more conspicuous than ever with the aforementioned upgrades and attention that the prisoner skiff was recently given in TVC. Currently, Mr. Tezeri is listed as a 10/10 priority in our own "Missing in Action Figure" files. He is also the subject of a FAN PETITION (Sign it!) started by our friend and Banthaskull contributor John Miko, who is also the admin of the Star Wars The Vintage Collection Facebook group.
Typically, random human characters don't make for compelling action figures, but as the last holdout preventing us from completing this crew, his stock goes up dramatically. Also, parts could be reused to make other Jabba's palace backgrounders. There are various channels and formats which could serve as the vehicle for a Velken Tezeri release, so all that remains is for Hasbro to just do it, already!

*We choose to display here because of the excellent sculpted windswept fur, even though the leg bandage, which is usually pretty well hidden in a crowded skiff display, isn't accurate until later in the scene
