Lots of voices are weighing in on ways for Hasbro to incentivise more backers for the Sail Barge, and they’re all good.  Our friends at Jedi Temple Archives offered this idea, which we also like.  Now it’s our turn to weigh in on a way for Hasbro to generate even more buzz around this sensational vehicle, and we think (in our wholly uninformed position) that it’s eminently doable.  Well informed vintage Kenner collectors already know exactly what we’re talking about from the preview image.

This is big news.  The Official Site is reporting that the HasLab Vintage Collection Sail Barge campaign is now open to Canada.  Attn Canada:  I will wear a Ken Dryden throwback jersey for a week if you make this happen (disclaimer: offer to wear a Ken Dryden throwback jersey is not valid).

Okay, we know some of you are sick of hearing about the Sail Barge.  We promise to shut up about it if you buy 3,000 of them.  But one unfortunate thing about the timing of the announcement was that it was a common school vacation week throughout the country.  So if you’re just returning with the kids from Vail or Disney, you might have missed this news.  If Hasbro gets a minimum of 5,000 backers, THEY WILL MAKE A VINTAGE COLLECTION SAIL BARGE!!!  If this school vacation week situation does describe you, click through for a roll up of this momentous event in the hobby.
