According to his Facebook page, Ralph McQuarrie, the visionary artist behind so much of the look of our beloved saga, has passed away at the age of 82. May you rest in peace, Mr. McQuarrie. Our thoughts go out to his family.

The Walmart exclusive Discover the Force subset includes two battle packs. The Royal Starship Droids is one of them. Check it out.
Scoop master supreme, volkerc, has the slide from the Toy Fair presentation that has all our interest piqued. In a departure from the recent pattern, Hasbro announced that the Naboo and Bespin battle packs would contain newly tooled figures. What’s more, they supposedly contained the best versions of Vader, Fett and Maul. Click through to see if there’s any truth to that statement (there isn’t). Collectors clearly are not the target for these items.

I was bored and did a little DPCI checking at the Target scanner at lunch today. If you want to see what I found out…
The site One Per Case reports finding the Deleted Scene wave at a Target store in Northern California. Click through to check it out. The early appearance gives me hope that for once a media event launch wave won’t be over shipped.
