Forum moderator Mazlow alerted us the an article on the Regal Cinemas site indicating the teaser trailer for Star Wars, The Force Awakens will debut at select theaters this weekend. Click the link for locations.
EDIT: In the time since we posted the story this morning, Regal cinemas must have received a strongly worded phone call from the good folks over at Disney, because…
One of the highlights of the nerd calendar for New England residents is currently afoot. Click through for our pictures from yesterday’s action. If your in the area, there is still time to attend the 2014 New England Super Megafest today.
Volkerc of Star Wars Figuren has posted a boxed pic of the upcoming Rebels Imperial Troop Transport. Click through for the full sized pic.
I found the Saga Legends Rebels figures at a Toys R Us in central Massachusetts during today’s lunch run. It’s over a month late and hardly enough to meet demand, but it’s something. Unfortunately Ezra’s helmet is yellowed and the limbs on the Stormtrooper are a different shade then the torso. Click through for the full sized image.
Our own Studly Dudly SithMan alerted us to this story. IO9 questions whether the voice of a major Clone Wars character was featured in the “Out of Darkness” episode. The support is circumstantial and based largely on the lack of credit on IMDB, but it’s interesting nonetheless.
Just a friendly reminder for those of you in the New England area that the New England Super Megafest Comic Con is this weekend November 22nd and 23rd. There are quite a few Star Wars related guests and many other pop culture celebrities attending. If you plan on taking in this even, I highly suggest buying tickets in advance. The day of event ticket line is traditionally over an hour wait. Click through to the Super Megafest web site for the details. Check back on Saturday for our coverage of the event.
Please note that the title is a question mark. I don’t want to over represent the status of my local stores as an indictment of the line as a whole. Only Toys R Us stores in my area are taking serious 6” Black Series deluxe stock and at both stores, the boxes are starting to pile up. Given that in this pic the basic 6” figures are leftover from last Christmas, I’m getting more confident in my developing contention that there is no collector depth for the 6” line. Hasbro has released some new press images of the upcoming Deluze Luke and Wampa, Han and Tauntaun, and the basic Han as Stormtrooper and Bossk. There is something off about Bossk and I can’t put my finger on it. Is the lower body too puffy compared to the upper torso? Click through for the gallery.
File this under bitter sweet. We received this report of multiple Black Series cases at a Toys R Us in central Massachusetts, but the wave 6 assortment is awful. The last thing stores need is a lot more Yodas. Hopefully the holiday season clears the decks for the good figures next year. Click through for the full sized image.
Though the title of the card avoids highlighting the fact that this is the Holiday Special Boba Fett, that is in fact the source of this figure. This breath of source material encapsulates the greatness of the 30th Anniversary Collection and the Animated Debut Boba Fett is the focus of today’s Throwback Review.
In addition to the individual cars and multipacks hitting stores, the first track playset has been spotted. The Death Star Battle Blast track comes with an X-Wing styled car that can be launched down a track to destroy the Death Star. The set scanned at $14.97. Click through for the full sized images.
This could be titled Dude Where’s My Figures. Unless you want to ignore your years of collecting experience, you know something is amiss with the action figure support for the recently launched Rebels series. If Hasbro could be accused of one thing, it’s OVER supporting new media at launch. There is an issue here and hit the jump for what the possible cause is.
