During the recent Hasbro PulseCon, Patrick said that if the Razor Crest HasLab campaign were backed, “there is a pretty good bet that we will have really all the figures that interact with it.”  A little more than 24 hours later, it was backed.  Reasonable people understand not to take “all” literally.

Collectors are not reasonable people.  So our own CJ (Dustin) set about compiling a list of what that “all” could be.  Please leave your comments on the link after the jump.  Let’s hope we get to move a few of these to the “announced” column after the upcoming Mando Monday.

Fallen order is a hit, and inexplicably Hasbro hasn't released as single 3.75" figure from that source. We wouldn't be doing our job if we didn't provide them a prioritized list of characters from the game should they choose to correct that mistake. Please leave all comments on the list or character entries themselves. As always, these lists are meant to represent community consensus and not just the opinions of the Bantha Skull staff. If you think we have the priorities way off, let us know.

Just in time for the 40th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back, CJ has compiled the database of characters from Echo Base that have yet to be immortalized in the 3.75" action figure form. Please leave all comments on the list or character entries themselves. Also let us know if we missed any, or yell at CJ because you don't agree with his rankings.

Recent events have caused us to rethink our priorities.  As as result, we’re rethinking our priorities.

We’re back, baby!  After an extended hiatus, the MIAF feature has returned to look at the Rebel Personnel on Yavin IV.  With one notable exception, Hasbro has done a pretty good job covering the pilots involved in the assault on the Death Star, but the converted Massassi temple was full of officers, technicians, and other assorted grunts that could flesh out our briefing, hanger, and medal ceremony dioramas.

In the comments here, let us know which scenes/sources we should look at next.  It could be anything.  Like Maz Kanata’s castle.  Or that diner from Attack of the Clones.  Or even something good.

This is a thing we used to do.  Take some time on your lazy Saturday to review our past MIAF features, and weep at what little progress has been made in the past 5 years.

To many discerning fans, The Empire Strikes Back is best film of the saga.  The sequences on Cloud City are the heart of that film, as each character comes away from Bespin changed, both physically and emotionally.  Despite its significance, Bespin has suffered a little in terms of action figures.  Perhaps this is because most of the ancillary characters are a bit boring compared to the xenopolitan Tatooine locations.  Still, our Bespin displays end up looking a bit scarce with just Lando and a couple of guards.  While I can’t say that Cloud City is filled with critical need action figures, it should certainly be revisited, assuming that the collector line isn’t already dead.

The ratings for each character here are based on a few factors including on-screen prominence, aesthetic, and significance to key sequences.  I don’t expect everyone to agree with our rankings, so feel free to call us stupid jerks in the comments, and while you’re here check out the other lists that have been put together.

It’s finally done.  The Jabba’s palace list was a big undertaking and this has been an off and on project since last October.  If you think we’ve missed anything, let us know.  If you think our priorities are wrong, let us know that too.  We try to weight the factors of screen prominence, on-screen frequency, interesting design and reader input to come up with the appropriate rankings.  Also, if a character appeared in both the palace and on a skiff, we put them in the Skiff Guard category.

Special thanks to the efforts of Dustin, without whom this wouldn’t have come together, and the input of our readers.

Lastly, remember that you can click on each character in the menu for the full write up.

Since a few recent comments indicated that readers were unaware of some of our completed Missing In Action Figure subsets, I’ve moved the “Unproduced Character Guide” menu item from a sub menu item under “Site Features” to the main menu strip above.  So far we have covered Skiff Guards, Cantina Patrons and The Thrawn Trilogy.  We are currently working hard on wrapping up the Jabba’s Palace.  It’s a massive list.

As always, if there is any subset you would like to see us tackle next, let us know.

HO ho ho ho ho ho ho.  Ah hah hah hah ha.

Our list of unproduced figures from Jabba’s palace / Sail Barge passengers is nearing completion.  If you have any favorites you want to see near the top of the list, be sure to let us know in the comments.

It could be argued that the Thrawn Trilogy was a seminal event in Expanded Universe history.  While the EU existed prior to Heir to the Empire, it precipitated an onslaught of non-movie media. We have compiled an admittedly abridged list of unproduced Thrawn Trilogy characters.  Some characters were omitted due to a lack of visual reference (Chin).  Others were omitted because of canonical conflicts (Judder Page).  What we do have is a list of the highest priority figures from the three novels (and a mandate for the return of Comic Packs!).

We could not have completed this without the assistance of Jedi Temple Archives and their engaged and enthusiastic members.  In fact, a special credit goes to JTA member Arnold Corso for being a veritable wealth of EU knowledge.

We’re ready for round two of the Missing In Action Figures feature.  This time we tackled another wildly popular subset:  the cantina patrons.  Before getting down to business, we need to throw out some caveats.  First, this is not a comprehensive list.  We decided internally that we either had to be able to identify the character on film OR be familiar with the character from other sources.  So characters like the fourth spaceman are not on the list.  Second, we think that a Sai’torr Kal Fas figure would be identical to the Hrchek Kal Fas figure we already have, so she’s not on the list.  As always, the rankings are subjective.  Let us know what you think.  If you make a good argument, maybe we’ll change the points.

Also, we get the impression that we should Expand our search for unmade characters.  If you think there is a particularly good source, please contact us.  Otherwise, I’m going to advocate for the Thrawn Trilogy.

Back during Bantha Skull 1.0, we had a popular feature called the “Unproduced Character Guide”.  The feature was maintained in our forums.  The problem is that no one likes our forums.  Not even us. So the feature went on hiatus.  It has now been returned as a front page feature we’ve nicknamed “Missing In Action Figure” accessible under the Site Features menu.  It is our hope that this can become a community resource for figure campaigns and Fans’ Choice polls, as well as something to stir debate.  We will be adding the unmade characters by theme and we’re kicking this off with our personal passion, the Skiff Guards (loosely interpreted).  If you have any feedback on our prioritization or which subset should be featured next, please leave comments here, or contact us via the Contact menu above.

It should be noted that the site skiffguards.com deserves a passive credit for this entry as it would not have been completed without their copious research.

Without further delay, lets get to the skiff guard that have no been made in plastic form (and those that have but desperately need upgrades)
