Things have certainly changed since this story outlined Disney's plan for 2019. Colin Trevorrow was axed, and after hiring JJ Abrams to helm Episode 9, Disney pushed the release date back from May to December 20, 2019. That was one week after Wonder Woman 2's planned release on December 13th. Disney didn't seem worried to follow so closely on the heels of the breakout star of the DCU.
But apparently, Warner Brothers has flinched in the game of chicken. According to Forbes, the studio will pull back the release a few weeks to November 1, 2019. This is one week before the untitled "Bond 25" movie, starring Daniel Craig, but as fun as that movie might be, it's no Star Wars. And while Warner Brothers has more to gain by moving their film, Star Wars should definitely benefit from a little breathing room. In that original story about Disney's 2019 plans, the Forbes article explained why Disney might have been willing to have Avengers 4 and Star Wars IX each suffer a bit at the others' expense, but things have changed.
Now it looks like everyone is giving Episode IX a wide berth.
