WARNING: This is a plot summary of the short story, spoilers ahead:
This was a very short story, which took a humorous look at the writing of the opening crawl to A New Hope. It is from the point of view of The Whills, who, in this story, are two dudes arguing over the logic. Although not mentioned by name, presumably they are George Lucas and someone helping him.
They argue over the starting point being the Galactic Civil War. What about the Clone Wars? What about the Republic? What about Anakin and Padme? No that's not the starting point. We could go back to that later. Maybe this would just be in the middle of the story. Make it episodic. This could be "4", although "IV" is way cooler. The part about having stolen the secret plans to the Death Star comes up. Wait, what about Jyn and Cassian, and Scarif and K-2SO? That was great stuff, we're just going to skip over that and reduce their incredible heroism to a single sentence? It's for another time, we're going to start with C-3PO and R2-D2. This elicits more arguing. C-3PO just whines all the time. But he's needed, and is very important later with the ewoks. Wait, we're leaving out the Clone Wars, but including the ewoks? No, that's a later story, but we can't leave out C-3PO. Leia is in this one, the custodian - custodian? She's a janitor? No, let's just move on, so we can "restore freedom to the galaxy..."
