Rave Reactions to The Last Jedi Premiere

EW and The Hollywood Reporter are updating their stories with tweets from members of the media that attended the screening.

Reactions are emotional. Some saying it's the best since Empire, "jaw dropping", "beautiful", and "unexpected". A theme of the reactions is that the story has a lot of unexpected twists, with one person saying that Luke's line of "This will not go the way you think," was right on the nose.

There was tremendous praise for the acting, with many singling out Hamill and Fisher for their best work in the series, and the new heroes taking their characters to new heights.

One person said that while there are cosmetic similarities to Empire, fans should have no fear, as it is not a copy of that film.

There was universal and effusive praise for Rian Johnson. Several people warned fans to stay away from spoilers, so as to fully enjoy the ride.

And one person said there is an "emotional payoff decades in the making."
