TCL Chinese Theater, is a famous Hollywood landmark. It is known, in part, for being the site of the premiere of (not A New Hope) Star Wars in 1977, when it was known as Mann's Chinese Theater. (The original name was Grauman's Chinese Theater.)
Variety reports that The Chinese Theater has just unveiled a renovated and upgraded theater in the complex, complete with MX-4D Motion EFX technology. Theaters enabled with this technology give the viewer an immersive experience. The theater is outfitted with "seats moving in sync with the movie action and special effects including motion, jolts, pokes, wind, water and scents."
Tickets will cost $29, which represents a $10 upcharge from a regular ticket. (Yes, Jim, we know you only pay $5.80 for a ticket when you go at 11:00am and wear a Browns T-shirt.)
Here's a promotional video that explains what this sorcery is all about. I'm particularly frightened by "leg ticklers." I want no part of that.
