Today is a pretty big day in these here United States. How big? My local Walmart is sold out of Doritos. Yeah. Even the party size bags are gone, and I think the last time one of those sold was during the Johnson administration. You're more likely to find a dragon wing today than a chicken wing. To put it in perspective for those of you from the elsewhere parts of the globe, this is like if Munchester Untied (shoe laces) faces off against Liversspots. Liverspots of course being the birthplace of that famous rock band, The Monkeys. I guess that analogy is pretty UK-centric. For those of you in Oz or Narnia, this is like a big deal in rugby, Aussie rules football or quiddich.
Today the Rams of Los Angeles will be facing off against the Bengals of Cincinnati. I am rooting for the Bengals because they are the home team for our own Randy of "5 POA is not okay" fame.
I've personally experienced 6 Super Bowl victories by my favorite football team. No big deal. I can't explain the sense of euphoria that results, but I can draw a parallel with Vintage Collection and HasLab. It was this:
The feeling of exhilaration from Super Bowl victories never gets old or diminishes, no matter how many your favorite team accumulates. On the other hand, nothing ever will match the exhilaration of that first HasLab campaign. It was and will be forever different. It was less corporate, not that I have any problem with things being corporate. That Sail Barge campaign felt collaborative and grass roots with the fans having an ownership stake in its success. It prompted me to make this campaign poster:

The campaign was a roller coast of emotions. At times, prospects of victory looked 28-3 bleak, but then there was the equivalent of an Alabama linebacker strip sacking a Boston College quarterback, and we dared hope. Finally, the glorious day came when the Barge was backed (you may notice a couple of notable commenters in that article). I felt the exact same wave of emotions that I felt watching the home team's coach taking a Gatorade shower.
I will never get to play in the NFL's ultimate game, but I am very thankful that this site got to participate in the Sail Barge campaign in some small way. Even CJ helped push the running back over the goal line. That in and of itself is a pretty big deal. He's usually terrible.
Enjoy the bacchanalia of today, and good luck, Randy.
Postscript: I've also witnessed my favorite team lose 5 Super Bowls, and to be honest, the agony of losing that game far outweighs the thrill of winning it, especially when two of those losses come at the hands of Mr. Nomadscout's New York football Giants.
