Target Feature End Cap Is All Sizzle No Steak

At the beginning of January, I breathlessly reported on this new Target feature end cap for Star Wars. I would grow to call it my "end cap of dreams.” What I meant by that was that it was nothing more than a promise until it was actually stocked with new Vintage Collection product. Three weeks later, I'm prepared to call it the boulevard end cap of broken dreams (if you didn't get the teaser image before, hopefully you do now). Not a single Target store in my area has stocked any TVC product on this end cap, choosing instead to fill the two pegs with random Star Wars product (see below).

Until stores expand the footprint for the Vintage Collection and set higher replenishment levels, TVC is not going to return to what it once was, and what I am 100% positive it could become again. If this end cap comes and goes without showing any TVC sales, I can't imagine it will have a positive affect on the Vintage Collection's peg allocation going forward. I have a feeling it will retract right back to one peg which will set impossible replenishment levels.

One absolutely alarming thing is that if you check Brickseek for the new Target TVC DPCI (087-16-2097), it results in "N/A" for both the description and MSRP. Perhaps I'm burying the lead here, and we're having another codification nightmare similar to the one that beset Walmart stores when TVC relaunched in 2018. Perhaps we should be sounding the alarm.

All I know is that TVC is hot. It's a shame that Ebay sellers and Amazon storefronts seem to be the only ones cashing in.
