Room for Improvement

I can’t say I was overly excited about the pipeline reveals of 5 Jabba’s alien repacks for the 40th anniversary of ROTJ, but I’m OK with them being put back out there. All but Yakface are TVC 1.0 releases and some were tricky to get then. I could certainly use a couple extras.

But while TVC is very fondly remembered for a lot of great reasons, a common issue throughout that line was the frequent color mismatches found on the joint pins in those figures. Now that these 4 goons are set to be repacked, how about fixing those? I know there are some weird details to the way the tooling is constructed that lead to this problem, but we also know it can be fixed. They’ve done it before. So while Hasbro is touching up these figures with FACE! paint applications, it would be great if they took care of these joint pins as well.

Let's Review:

Woof (VC24)

Despite being the oldest of the bunch, Wooof's mismatched knee pins are the least noticeable (from the front, at least).

Kithaba (VC56)

They got his knees right! Unfortunately the elbows and especially the ankles are an eyesore.

Nikto (VC99)

The knee pins perfectly match the color of this guy's shirt. Maybe it's intentional like a pocket square. The armpit isn't perfect either, but doesn't stand out as much.

Weequay (VC107)

Absolutely hideous knees on an otherwise nearly perfect figure.
