Original Trilogy Figures With No Proper Display Home:  Part 2

First, you may be expecting an April Fools' Day entry today. I decided to forgo it because I didn't want to take our recent engagement for granted. A joke article wouldn't lend itself to the level of conversation we've been having lately. Also, I'd like to address the vicious rumor started by Mr. Nomadscout that I hate April Fools' Day. I don't hate the day. I hate the talentless tricksters who think telling a completely plausible lie constitutes a prank. Tricking people into thinking that Zacahary Quinto has been cast in an unspecified role in the Mando and Grogu movie takes no skill. Tricking people into thinking LFL secured the likeness rights to digitally recreate Art Carney's Saun Dann character from the Holiday Special is art.

Okay, enough about April Fools' Day, but do stay on guard as you cruise the elsewhere parts of interwebs this morning. For our content today, we're going to look at more Original Trilogy scenes for which we have at least five figures unique to that scene, but no unifying "world building" piece to collect them. We already did the first three in part one:

We now conclude with the final two I have on my list.

Dagobah

Dagobah just limps over the line with six figures unique to that environment. Depending on your world view, you could argue for a seventh with the Dragon Snake that came with the TSC X-Wing which is meant to simulate Luke's splashdown in the Dagobah swamp. You may also want to argue that the X-Wing could serve as the centerpiece of these Dagobah figures, but I'm going to use a "you'll know it when you see it" style of argument against that. While it may be technically true, we all know that a true Dagobah display needs to center around Yoda's hut.

Unlike the other environments we talked about in part one, any sort of Dagobah playset would only collect Dagobah figures. Contrast with a Home One playset which would not only be the display base of the Home One specific figures, but also over a dozen others. The flip side is that a Dagobah playset would be the only possible display home for your OT Yoda. Yoda is way too important of a character to be relegated to a naked shelf. As a stop gap, the vintage Kenner Dagobah play set works pretty well to this day:

That's what I currently use to anchor my Dagobah figures. I got mine a few years ago with replacement foam for the swamp, and didn't pay much more than the current $60 MSRP for play sets. Plus, it has just as many paint applications as the Streets of Mos Eisley set!

Yavin Ceremony

I'm sure you all saw this one coming. Hasbro has gotten us about half way home to completing this scene as you can see from the Scene It entry. That's certainly enough to warrant some sort of elevated display. Plus, this is another set that could bring in some optional figures. The Yavin Ceremony is the Rebel Alliance's version of the "Emperor's Arrival". It could display Rebel Fleet Troopers, X-Wing Pilots, and more if you get creative by donating the soft cap that came with the RFT to some Honor Guards.

If a hypothetical play set could connect laterally, it would incentivize multiple purchases. I know it would be fashionable to say this would be the way to get Bob Hudsol, but these sets never include newly tooled figures. We would need a "Purina" jacket Rebel Officer to come to main line first some how. Only then could you slap a new head on it, give it a soft goods duster, and call it Bob Hudsol. The downside here is obvious. It would be just a set of stairs. I would counter that Gideon's hallway is just a hallway.

As with Home One, it might be better to go third party for a Yavin play set. Nomadscout opted for Carboard Galaxy (sponsored) below:

Unfortunately, he has neither the Yavin nor Home One displays in stock at this time.

That wraps it up. I thought about including the Ewoks because we don't have a modern Bright Tree Village playset, but I figured the combination of the Endor Bunker, Endor AT-AT, and the AT-ST provide enough secondary context. Other than that, anything I missed?
