My Dream HasLab That No One Would Back

I'm very careful about stumping for my personal wants here on Bantha Skull unless I can say in good faith that I think they are commercially viable suggestions. I'm still traumatized when some particularly loud voices in the community pushed for Yarna D'al' Gargan, and I watched as "Yarna" became an eponym for pegwarmer. I don't like to put things out into the ether unless I'm sure they won't harm the line. I'm not always right, but I try. So this all leads me to saying the following is merely my personal want, and I'm not suggesting that Hasbro makes it.

It's no secret that I'm obsessed with the end of the vintage Kenner line, and what would have been coming in 1986 had the line not been canceled. This probably stems from the fact that I didn't know what Yak Face was until the nineties (I stopped my kid collecting in early 1984). It's sort of like finding out that there is a secret level that you never knew about in a video game you loved as a kid. It's thrilling. As many of you know, I'm also obsessed with the Droids line. They were the figures I saw in toy stores, but never bought. The one that got away. The perfect constellation of all these things is the unproduced Droid White Witch. It actually made it all the way to the prototype stage before being canceled. You can read more about it HERE.

If HasLabs are about dream projects, having the White Witch finally and at long last see production would truly feel like a dream. It would be like a course correction to a timeline that went horribly wrong. Here's the big twist to this story: I would want this to be a Retro Collection HasLab. You know, that line that I absolutely hate except for those rare instance when I don't. A modern "prop replica" take on the White Witch would feel misplaced. I would want an attempted replica of that ancient Kenner prototype (maybe Gus Lopez would let Hasbro scan it). The pack in Retro Collection figures would be the crew of Thall Joben, Jord Dusat, and Kea Moll on replica Droids cards without any of that nonsense faux distressing. Stretch goals could be Retro R2 and 3PO with the Droids color schemes. The Retro Collection is in the pocket when it produces things that should have come out during the vintage Kenner line like Grand Moff Tarkin. The White Witch is the epitome of that sentiment. Not only should it have come out, it almost did.

So who is with me on this? Show of hands. One...two...th...uht CJ was just scratching his back..[continues counting silently]. Six! There you go, Hasbro, six people would back this project. I say you green light it.
