According to THIS REPORT from The Hollywood Reporter, The Rise of Skywalker surpassed $1 billion in global ticket sales yesterday. THR writes:
J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker rode past the billion-dollar mark at the worldwide box office Tuesday, its 28th day in release.
The movie's domestic tally is $481.3 million, while it has amassed $519.7 million overseas for a current worldwide cume of $1.001 billion.
TROS now sits just under $333 million off The Last Jedi's total. On paper, that's too large of a gap to close before the close of the theatrical run, but perhaps the rumored Extended Edition will reinvigorate the ticket sales for one last push.
