ATTN HASRBO:  No One Cares About The Global Shipping Crisis Excuse Anymore

Despite what comment sections and social media may lead you to believe, fans are somewhat reasonable. Please be aware that the vocal fans are not representative of the fan base at large. It's a bit like sports radio. The vast majority just listen. It's only the lunatic fringe who actually call in and participate. If you listen to New England sports radio, you would get the impression that Bill Belichick is the most reviled man in the history of sport, but in reality, a good 90% of the fan base would defend the man to the death. I swear to God, six championships and these basement-dwelling, no-job-having mutants can do nothing but complain. But I digress. The main thesis is that fans, in general, are reasonable, understanding folk.

For that reason, when the global shipping crisis hit in 2021, the silent majority of us understood that this was something that was out of Hasbro's control. But we are now over a year removed from the onset of the crisis. Heck, we here at Banthaskull are slow to react to lame real world issues, and despite dragging our feet, Mr. Nomadscout broached the subject in July of 2021. Suffice it to say, the community has been dealing with this for quite some time, but using this an excuse needs to cease. If nothing has changed after a year, it's simply the new reality and it needs to be acknowledged, but...

Why does this feel like this is becoming more of an American problem? I know our international readers probably threw up in their mouths a bit reading that. “Poor woe-is-me Americans, who have access to everything, are complaining.” Please don't think for a second that we don't appreciate that we have it better than our international brethren, but it is a curiosity. Why does it seem like every other developed nation, to include those to our immediate north and south, are awash in the Droids R2-D2 and Boba Fett figures? My carded samples came from across the pond seemingly months ago (once again, thank you, Bossk's Bounty). Yet, I still wait for my preorders here in the States.

Something doesn't seem to add up. Again, asking Hasbro to solve this issue is a bit like asking me to solve the riddle of cold fusion, but that doesn't mean that nothing should be done. It feels like Target is a complicating factor with respect to the Droids exclusives. I can't fathom how smaller international retailers would be unaffected by the global shipping crisis, but a retail behemoth is. If, as I suspect, the product is in the United States, but Target is incapable of handling the late shipment, perhaps Hasbro Pulse can intercede before the stock gets dumped on closeout.
