Geonosis 1 - Obi-Wan’s Investigation

Description:

After following Jango Fett from Kamino, Obi-Wan Kenobi landed his Jedi Starfighter on Geonosis near a Separatist base camp. Obi-Wan set out on foot to investigate the activity, and infiltrated one of the Geonosian hives. After discovering a large foundry producing huge numbers of battle droids, he stumbled upon a high level Separatist council meeting led by Count Dooku. Returning to his ship, he enlisted the help of R4-P17 to send a communication (via Anakin) to Chancellor Palpatine and Jedi on Coruscant to report his findings. Shortly after establishing communication, Obi-Wan was captured, and brought back to Dooku where he was held prisoner.

After seeing the droid foundry, Obi-Wan hides behind a pillar as Dooku and the Separatist Council walk by. This is the only clear shot we get of Passel Argente, who is the last in line to walk past.

Once seated, Dooku leads the council. To the left of the screen we can see the face of Rogwa Wodrata, one of the few council members seen on screen that does not exist as an action figure.

Notes:
1.  The Jedi Starfighter from AOTC is still an outstanding vehicle and was smartly repainted many times over the years. The only knock is the permanently affixed R4-P17, but the dimensions of the toy ship preclude a full sized astromech.
2.  This is a composite shot, as the film shows the Separatists walking by only one or two at a time. The only figure missing is that of Rune Haako.
3.  Shu Mai isn't a great figure, but it suffices for now. There is a Cat Miin figure, but it's VERY scene specific from ROTS, as it includes Vader's lightsaber slash on her chest.
4.  This San Hill figure is also less than stellar, but at least we have him.
5.  While not having much articulation, Wat Tambor is great looking figure, and comes with a cool console accessory.
6.  In this image inspired by the panning shot in the film, we have no figure for Rune Haako, Rogwa Wodrata, or TIkkes.
7.  A really neat little bonus from Hasbro is that the radar dish that comes with the Saga Obi-Wan Pilot figure can plug into a small hole in the hull of the Jedi Starfighter.
8.  There are lots of Geonosian figures to choose from. Some are better than others.
9.  VC31 is the best AOTC Obi-Wan figure available.
10.  Count Dooku from the TLC Arena Showdown sets is the choice here. He's the same figure as the ROTS Evolutions figure, but has a "friendlier" face, good for negotiating with Obi-Wan. The Saga Jedi Warriors 4-pk includes the containment field device.

Action Figures/Items Used:

The Missing:
These are characters that belong in this scene for which Hasbro has never made a figure. These characters are all featured in our Unproduced Character Guide which we have affectionately nicknamed Missing In Action Figure or M.I.A.F. for short. Clicking through on the following entries will bring you to the M.I.A.F. entry for that character.

Just a few alien separatists would make this entire sequence complete. Rune Haako is the most important character of the group from the entire prequel timeframe. It's an outrage that he doesn't have an AOTC figure. If you're an animal, you might substitute the TPM figure, but then your friends will laugh at you. There's a whole mess behind the scenes since it didn't go unnoticed that the prosthetic mask used here is significantly different from the one used in TPM. That gave some fuel to the notion that it's not Rune, but a different character. It's Rune, so that's a bunch of hooey. Tikkes is one of the most recognizable Separatist leaders, even though he was barely in AOTC. He's all over EU and non-film canon, from the Microseries, to The Clone Wars, to print media. Such a figure would alsomake an easy two-fer as a much desired ROTJ Tessek. Cat Miin could be an easy repaint of the existing ROTS figure. That would leave Rogwa Wodrata as the only difficult/questionable figure to manufacture. It's a pretty intriguing design, and if the other 3 were made, the priority would instantly jump to a 10 for this sequence.
