According to IGN Middle East, Simon Pegg, known by some for his work with Edgar Wright and Nick Frost and by most for his role as Scotty in JJ Abrams’ Star Trek reboot, was spotted on-set in Abu Dhabi shooting scenes for Episode VII. There is no indication as to the size of the role which could be something as small as a wink to the audience for Pegg’s established geek cred and prior collaborations with JJ Abrams.

Where are my fellow baseball card collectors from the late eighties and early nineties? Remember when Topps, Fleer, Donrus, Score and Upper Deck flooded the market with so many different sets and sublines that it saturated the market. You went from a player having a single card in a given year to having three to having twenty plus in a few short years, and the market collectively said “no mas”. According to the web site PopCritica, Bandai has announced that its S.H Figuarts line has added the Star Wars license. How many different Darth Vaders will I be tacking down until I say “no mas”?
USA Today has provided updated information on the SDCC Exclusive Darth Vader Hot Wheels set. The price will be a somewhat eye popping $40 and the set will include a lightsaber case and light-up features.
Likely trying to cash in on the tourism boom that Star Wars has brought to Tunisia, the chief executive of twofour54, an Abu Dhabi media consulting firm, revealed that ways to preserve the Episode VII film sets are being explored. The sets are being curated until a permanent display home can be arranged which will probably be on Saadiyat Island.
