Volkerc does it again, by providing the case breakdown for wave 2 of the 6” Black Series.
Wave 2
Slave Leia 1x
Boba Fett 1x
Ep. III Anakin Skywalker 1x
EP. IV Han Solo 1x
If you are a Star Wars historian at heart, you will not want to miss this 1978 Boba Fett screen test showing the prototype armor we’ve all come to love recently.
For those not wanting to order the Black Series by the case, the individual wave 1 figures are listed as coming soon to Hasbro Toy Shop. Additionally, orders of $10 or more in Star Wars merchandise get a free Star Wars figure valued at $9.99. My real motivation for posting this is the sad commentary that there isn’t a single figure from that lackluster launch wave that I want extras of. I have a case coming from BBTS and that will be the extent of my wave 1 purchase. I can’t recall the last time I haven’t wanted extras of at least one figure. And six of them are carry forward figures since apparently Hasbro feels pressure to match their 2012 record of destroying the retail pipeline in only two assortments. This is what happens when you set the fail bar very high.
New breaking guru Volkerc has posted pics of the upcoming K-Mart exclusive Ewok Catapult set on his site starwars-figuren.com. Head over to check them out. Not too shabby.
As first alerted to by our friends at Jedi Temple Archives, four of the upcoming Black Series 3 3/4” figures are available for pre-order at toysrus.com with buy one get on 50% off. The estimated ship date is 08/06.
The site flyguy.net comes through again. Remember all those clones that no one was asking to be upgraded? Yup, they’re a comin’. On a less sarcastic note, I’m particularly happy about a certain “survivors circle” Jedi that appears to be getting the upgrade treatment.
Also if you think I saw Jedi Temple Archives repost this news and then did the same thing here, that’s just stupid.
The site flyguy.net has revealed a list of 8 heretofore unannounced 6” Black Series figures.
I was first alerted to this bit of news via this posting by our friends at Yakface. I’ve taken a vow to keep this front page of Bantha Skull family friendly, so for that reason I had to refrain from re-posting here in the immediate aftermath. Now that I’ve counted to 10 (500 times), I’m sufficiently composed to comment without working blue.
So the Angry Birds line gets to keep the Vintage Collection styled packaging, but the figure line, where the style was neither tired nor complete, gets the ultra bland Black Series packaging. Awesome. Awesome.
Entertainment Earth is having a buy one get one half off Lego sale. Never too early to stock up on holiday gifts!
The site io9.com comments on the book Star Wars Storyboards which shows…well…storyboards that reveal what may have been a darker and less terrible Prequel Trilogy. Bear in mind that the Prequel Trilogy still would have been terrible, just slightly less so. Some gems include a younger mowhawk bedecked Qui-Gon and Darth Maul borrowing a page from Loki.
