Here at the firm of Nomad and Other Guy, we have been discussing what the Spring 2018 launch wave of The Vintage Collection 2.0 should look like. What’s important to note is that we’re not focusing on the ultimate collector case filled with obscure characters like Glee-Glop and the Floopty-Doos. That would be retail death. We’re trying to brainstorm the ideal launch wave for retail success. And as usual, Bret and I don’t agree on what that case would look like. We also argued about whether or not anyone would want to read this. I said no, and I put my money where my mouth is. For every comment above 1000 this article gets, I will buy him 10 AT-ACTs. Yes, we updated again. No we’re not done, but the main page should be free from radical changes going forward. This new version of the is designed to be more mobile friendly, so if you browse Bantha Skull from you phone (hi, Russ), it should be easier to use. As always, if you experience any issues with the new layout, please let us know. Some of the sub-features, like photo galleries, have not been migrated to the new format. We’ll get to those soon, but it will take some time. Mr. Nomadscout is insisting I incorporate the vintage name pill somewhere, so I have that to look forward to. Thank you for your patience.
The Jedha Revolt 4-pack has dropped in price on Walmart.com, and is now $18.74. Yes, we know it’s not Vintage Collection super-articulated goodness, but while we may generally frown upon the 5POA figure line, this looks to be a good looking set at a very fair price. Now leave me alone while I buy this so I can add Forest Whitaker to my collection.
Rival Mattel’s stock tanked amid bigger than expected losses for the quarter, dropping 20% over the past 12 months. Despite this, as well a general malaise in the retail industry, Hasbro’s report of strong quarterly results caused its stock to jump 15% Monday, and 30% over the past 12 months. A certain brand close to our hearts contributed…
Bantha Skull has spoken. World War V is a thing. But before we get to that, click through to see the 6 nominees that Bantha Skull is submitting to Hasbro on behalf of you, the fans, for the Vintage Collection Fans’ Choice figure first round vote.
Two site updates within a week? WHAT? Yup. We updated again. Like everyone else, we were caught flat footed by the miraculous announcement that the Vintage Collection is returning and we scrambled to put together something that represented vintage-osity. But the result was a little jumbled. We hope this new design is a step toward a more readable site (and it’s just the next step toward the final design). We apologize for exposing you to the sausage as it’s being made, but we’re just two men. We had an intern, Darren, but he’s going away for a while. We’re never going to get that chicken.
If something is broken for you, please let us know in the comments.
To paraphrase George Costanza, We’re back, Baby! We’re back!

Ladies and Gentlemen. It’s with a heavy heart I am here to report that Carrie Fisher has died after her heart attack on the 23rd.

While poking around at some publicly-available information on a major retailer’s website, we came across some things that may not be what we first assumed they were. A friendly investigative automaton has filled in some holes for us, and I think we’ll all be really excited to see what might be coming down the pike in the near future. He did it again for the first time for the third time. Our own CJ (Dustin to you city folk) has used his keen detection skills (and limitless time) to uncover some more SKUs for the frustratingly unavailable Walmart exclusive 3.75” Black Series line. Click through to take a gander at what he found. Or just look at the images below if you’re exceedingly lazy. But you’ll be sorry. Because there are two more figures that I couldn’t fit in there!

Proof that the combination of time and effort can accomplish anything, our own CJ (Dustin) has once again kicked over the Walmart rock and uncovered 8 new SKUs for their exclusive Black Series line. Four you already knew, but four you didn’t (but could probably guess). Click through for the details.
