Q. We’re all excited to see the Episode I stuff shown at SDCC, but we’re not sure how this will impact the rest of the Vintage line. How many basic (non-exclusive) waves of Ep 1 figures are there going to be, and will we return to mixed waves immediately, or will there be a built-in gap to keep the product on the shelf in-line with the TPM marketing push? Many OT-only collectors might get frustrated if we don’t see any new OT figures until late spring. However, their frustration would be mitigated if they had some news on an upcoming Sail Barge…
A. Vintage wave 1 2012 does focus on Episode I, but Vintage wave 2 and beyond include a large number of OTC figures. We will debut additional Vintage figures for 2012 at New York Comic Con this October.
Q. Originally we were supposed to see a wave with Aayla Secura, Dr. Evazan, Kithaba, Nom Anor, and the 501st Clone trooper this fall. In your SDCC presentation, you mentioned that this wave was being bumped to 2012. One slide in your show seemed to imply that these figures would be in the wave with Aurra Sing. So, are these figures part of the Wal-Mart exclsuive TPM wave now or will we just see those 6 TPM figures 2x per case and the Aayla wave later?
A. A wave including Aayla Secura, Nom Anor, 501st Trooper, Kithaba, Evazan, Naboo Pilot, Mawhonic, Aurra Sing, Wedge and Gungan Warrior will be available in 2012 at mainline in Vintage Collection packaging. Some of these figures will also be available at Walmart in different non-Vintage retailer exclusive packaging.
