We feel a Death Star playset is a natural follow up to the wildly successful HasLab Sail Barge campaign. It checks a lot of "HasLab" boxes:
Too big and too expensive for traditional retail
Appeals to the segment of the hobby that is willing to spend $500+
Interacts with dozens of figures you already own
Constantly requested since the line resumed over 20 years ago
There's only one problem: What is it we are asking for?
I don't think I need to explain the logistical hurdles with a perfectly spherical playset. So, is it a cut out cross section like the vintage Kenner Death Star playset? Is it a portion of the interior like the Micro Collection Death Star World? Would it be hemispherical like the Palitoy cardboard Death Star?
Furthermore, what does it do? What features does it have? We have our ideas, but what are yours? Let us know in the comments.
Finally, for a little of the traditional Bantha Skull "remember when" on a Friday, do you remember this?
