Good evening.
Welcome once again to another installment of the nerd news roundup. Last week I was noticably absent. Don’t worry though, I’m back again this week to fill you in on all the nerd news that’s fit to print…or type…whatever.
This week we didn’t have much in the way of toy news. Walmart seems to be starting a reset, so maybe we’ll have some store reports for you next week.
One thing I can report on…remember those nifty Mega Bloks Call of Duty single figure sets from a couple of weeks ago? It looks like they’re showing up at Wally now, and seem to be only shipped to Super-Target style stores. I guess my store isn’t super enough. (kicks dirt)
Alright. Lets move on to some entertainment news.
The first pics from the Ant-man movie have hit the web. Paul Rudd (swoon) and Evangeline Lilly were shown. They both look pretty un-super hero to me. Rudd looks like he’s in any other movie he’s ever done. Lets not forget either that they are filming under the title ‘Bigfoot.’ Get it? Cause ants are small…and bigfoot…isn’t real. Never mind. And no, this is not a bio-pic on forum member BigJim. Sorry folks.
Oh. Speaking of Ant-Man. John Slattery is set to show up as well. It’s being reported that he’s reprising his role from Iron Man 2, as Howard Stark. Interesting to say the least.
Some set pics from the Batman v Super man flick show actor Scoot Mcnairy (who names these people?!) sporting some nice high-topped green socks. Rumors are he’ll be CGI’d running really really fast.
Despite the script being leaked earlier this year, and director Quentin Tarantino saying he was going to shelve it, he’s moving forward with The Hateful 8. The first trailer, complete with no filmed scenes, will be attached to versions of this weekends Sin City: A Dame to Kill For release.

Moving to the small screen. Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD had some nice news this week. GI Joe Retaliation star Adrienne Palicki is set to play Mockingbird in this season, and Brian Patrick Wade will be taking on the role of Crusher Creel…the Absorbing Man.
Following the unbridled success of Hannibal, NBC is developing another horror/suspense movie to TV show. The Devils Advocate starred Keanu Reeves playing Keanu Reeves, and Al Pacino playing the devil. I hope it makes it past the pilot phase.

Speaking of NBC, they gave us the first look at Constantine star Matt Ryan this week (as seen on the front page). All I know is the Keanu version of this so I guess it can go either way.
Well that’s it for me this week. Thanks for reading, and I’ll see ya in the pit.
