Sail Barge Watch:  10 Days Remaining

We posted this graph a few weeks ago to show how the campaign was doing at the time. It was a call to arms to illustrate how after a very strong start, we were losing momentum at an alarming rate. We compared the blue backer line to the red constant of 111 per day from day 1. We crossed that line at just about the halfway point in the 45 day life of the campaign. We knew then that we needed something to happen to change the playing field, otherwise things were bleak.

Despite a few events that we would have hoped would have more of a positive impact (opening to Canada and then Dark Side Toys stepping up as a third party for European backers) nothing changed perceptibly.

Then the announcement came that a special carded Yak Face would be included in the deal, and along with the first painted prototype images, the campaign was given a powerful shot in the arm.

But on Saturday, while we performed fairly well with 82 backers added to the ranks, it was far below the pace needed to achieve victory as of midnight, 24 hours earlier. At that point, we needed 139 per day for 11 days.

So here we are, 10 days left, and 1443 barges short of the finish line. That's 144.3 needed per day from here on out. It's a tall order. One of two things is going to happen: We're either getting some additional awesome news from Hasbro to galvanize the remaining fence-sitters and push us over that finish line, or the much ballyhooed last-minute surge (of which I am mightily skeptical) will save the day. I do feel there might be some push at the end that might help cover a couple of hundred orders, but it's going to take a lot to cover 1000+ in the last week, which is looking like what might be needed at this pace.

If you are reading this, get out there and keep promoting this through whatever channels you have available. This is our last opportunity. Buy this if you are procrastinating. Buy a second or third if you are thinking about it and have the means.
