5 ABY: The New Republic Era
Luke recovers a fragment of the Great Tree from The Jedi Temple on Coruscant
Han and Chewie lead a force to liberate Kashyyyk from Imperial forces.
Upheaval after failed Republic/Imperial peace talks forces temporary move of Senate off Chandrila.
Imperial Remnant defeated at Jakku
Mas Amedda leads Imperial Forces to sue for peace, resulting in signing of Galactic Concordia
Imperial Remnants fight their way into hiding in the Unknown Regions, reforming into the First Order.

The Wilderness Years
The First Order recruit mercenaries, the Amaxine Warriors, and raise funds for a new military.
Leia sends her son Ben to train with Luke

28 ABY: The Rise of the First Order
New office of "First Senator" created to replace office of Chancellor.
Two factions, Populists and Centrists fight for political control within the New Republic.
Amaxine Warriors conduct terrorist attacks on Senate
Leia's father being Vader is exposed, and she withdraws from First Senator election.
Leia and Ackbar form the Resistance.
Centrists secede from the New Republic, and join the First Order.
Ben Solo betrays Luke, and falls to the Dark Side.

34 ABY: A New War
The First Order and Resistance compete to find information leading to the whereabouts of Luke Skywalker
New Republic Senate on Hosnian Prime destroyed.
Rey tracks down Luke.
The First Order emerges to wage open war against the New Republic.
