Official Site Announces A New Star Wars Mobile Game

The Official Site has announced the Star Wars: Rise to Power mobile strategy game from Lucasfilm and EA. While the details are exceedingly thin at this time, this is how the game is being teased:

Move over, Grand Admiral Thrawn and Admiral Ackbar. Soon we’ll find out who really has the greatest strategic mind in the galaxy.

So this appears to be more military strategy than anything involving Jedi-ing. I'm not opposed to that. This also explains the registration of the domain starwarsrisetopower.com which Lucasfilm secured on July 19th. Those of you who thought that would be tied to a Palpatine Anthology film were way off.

Oh, and if you're one of the uncool kids who uses an Android device, you might be able to get in on the closed pre-alpha test. That's cool. I guess. If you're into those sorts of things. I like my iPhone.
