Jon Favreau To Produce And Write Live Action Star Wars Series

As alerted to by our friends at Jedi Temple Archives, the Official Site has annoucned that the mutli-talented Jon Favreau will executive produce and wirte a Star Wars live action series.



We here at Bantha Skull hold Mr. Favreau in extremely high esteem. Not only is Swingers in the pantheon of Bantha Skull comedy classics, but together with Christopher Nolan, Jon Favreau proved that comic book superhero movies could be good. And we don't mean "good for a comic book movie". Iron Man holds its own as an outstanding movie against any competition. If you're happy about the MCU, you owe him a debt of gratitude. Suffice to say, this news pleases us as does this quote from the StarWars.com story:

Favreau is thrilled to be returning to the Star Wars galaxy: “If you told me at 11 years old that I would be getting to tell stories in the Star Wars universe, I wouldn’t have believed you. I can’t wait to embark upon this exciting adventure.”

The enthusiasm surrounding the episodic movies is mixed right now at best. The long form structure of a television series is exactly the kind of storytelling the Star Wars franchise needs to reinvigorate fans, and it's in the perfect hands.
