We’ve received some questions on the “displayability” of the Boutros77 Jabba’s Main Hall diorama we recently featured. The original gallery is here. It clearly looks good in a vacuum, but how does it incorporate into your display? Quite well is the answer. First, I use a Rubbermaid adjustable closet system for my display that is available at Home Depot (solid shelving of course). The shelf depth in this particular part of my display is 12”. There are many different depths of shelves available and I will likely use a wider shelf if I continue to expand my Jabba’s palace display with Boutros77 dioramas. That sort of flexibility is why I chose this particular shelving system.
The dimensions of the Jabba’s Main Hall piece are 16.5” W x 11” D x 7.5” H. Thus my 12” depth shelf worked perfectly (for now). I’m still using the old cardboard POTF2 display to flesh out the rest of Jabba’s Palace (again for now). That piece took many geographic liberties with the floor plan of the palace. As Carl expands and integrates his palace dioramas I hope to fully replace that cardboard display. The end result for now is exactly as I pictured it in my mind’s eye when I commissioned the Main Hall piece.
