Some people might think it's pathetic that we say a movie has had such a profound and lasting impact on our lives. I actually take pity on them for missing out on the joy that I've had and continue to have because of the movie that changed everything forty years ago today. I honestly feel blessed to have grown up Star Wars. Nothing will ever be as magical for me as that six year span. With that, we would be remiss if we didn't honor the 40th birthday of the movie that imprinted on our lives and revolutionized an industry. I know it's not terribly original, but it felt like paying tribute to the first anniversary one sheet, the toys, and 40th anniversary, all at once, made sense.
I also realize my friend Paul Harrison at Jedi Temple Archives is probably throwing a carnival for the 40th Anniversary right now, but this is the best I could do.
