So far, we've looked at a Death Star and a mechanized AT-AT. Now we take our first look at a project that would fall outside the Original Trilogy.
Remember our general criteria for HasLab:
Too expensive, too big, and too niche for release at mass retail
Appeals to hard-core collectors willing to shell out $500 for dream items.
The popularity of Star Wars: Rebels may be somewhat inconsistent across the broad spectrum of Star Wars fans. I, for one, had almost zero interest in the cartoons until my wife and I decided to embark on an epic binge project to watch all of The Clone Wars and all of Rebels in only a couple months. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed both series, and was glad to have gotten caught up in time to watch the the last few episodes of Rebels as they aired. A year ago, I would have completely mocked this project outright, but now I have a newfound respect for the characters, ships, and settings in the cartoons.
Our next idea for HasLab is none other than The Ghost from Rebels. A few obstacles exist which have prevented this vehicle from making it to mass market. Hasbro's tepid toy support for Rebels pretty much killed any chance that a large Rebels vehicle would ever see the light of day. The line of 5POA cartoon-styled figures was heavily geared for kids. While Hasbro gave a lot of love to TCW, it seems the market has changed enough in Hasbro's model that bringing a huge vehicle to mass retail didn't make sense, especially if collectors were already clamoring for realistically styled figures from the show. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, The Ghost is a significantly larger ship than the Millennium Falcon. I didn't even realize exactly how much larger until I crunched the numbers, which compare measurements found on Wookieepedia to the actual toys.
Millennium Falcon in Star Wars media:
Length = 34.37 meters
Width = 25.61 meters
Area = 880.2 meters2
Ghost in Star Wars media:
Length = 43.9 meters
Width = 34.2 meters
Area = 1501.4 meters2
Many people might not realize this, but The Ghost is roughly 70% larger than the Millennium Falcon.
That's enormous. Is this feasible for something around $500? We're not saying $500 is a hard limit for HasLab projects, but how much would this cost?
Such a vehicle would need a cockpit, nose turret, dorsal gunner station, lounge/rec area, crew quarters/bunks, docking/freight bay, ramp, Should it have lights and sounds? How about the shuttles. It should include a Phantom, but should it include both the original Phantom and the Sheathipede Phantom?
And not to be minimized would be the importance of realistically styled 3.75" Rebels figures. At a minimum, we'd need the 6 Spectres, but I'm personally interested in having more characters as well. Making such a vehicle would make very little sense without a proper crew of figures.

If you're fearful of supporting a cartoon driven vehicle, don't forget that The Ghost was in Rogue One
