Figures of the Barge - The Missing - Part 2 (Skiffs)
Have you backed the Barge yet? If not, we hope our continuing look at the action figures that would be part of a Khetanna diorama will push you over the fence to make that purchase.
We have more diorama setups, but this time, we focus on the two skiffs. Again, we'll get a little help from the Grand Army of the Republic to highlight the ridiculousness of living without these action figures. As we did yesterday, we'll follow the bizarro diorama with Vintage Collection mock-ups for each figure. (Click on the image for the full sized version.) Note that in the case of unnamed characters, we used some artistic license in the name pills. Basically, we did all the hard work for Hasbro, so all they have to do is design the figure, translate it to plastic, market it, research it, promote it, manufacture it, paint it, package it, and ship it. All too easy.
Prisoner Skiff
Hasbro has yet to produce 2 characters from the Prisoner Skiff, including the driver!
What the heck are those? Yes, they're Bantha Skull clone troopers! Someone needs to drive that thing!
Two characters are as yet unmade for the prisoner skiff. Of some importance is Vedain. Already a priority for us because he's the actual driver of the prisoner Skiff, a realized Khetanna would rocket this guy into the "Must Be Made" status. This Nikto is one of the more prominent backgrounders in the Battle of the Pit of Carkoon. In fact, regardless of the outcome of the Khetanna campaign, Vedain should be towards the higher end of Hasbro's TVC priority list. Get 'er done, Hasbro. As for Velken Tezeri, he's a human background character, but if we get Vedain as we should, then Velken would be the last figure needed for the Prisoner Skiff. If Hasbro makes Vedain, then Velken has to follow. This is science!
Second Skiff
Here again, we have one of the better shots of the crew of the second skiff.
Making a rare appearance are the Shadow Clone Commandos. In fact, they're so good, one of them can't even be seen here.
While the prisoner Skiff has 7 of 9 characters made, the second skiff didn't get quite the same amount of love. Here we have 4 of 8 figures made. The Nikto Yotts Orren seems like the candidate with the best shot at having a figure. He's an alien, and kids dig aliens. Along with Vedain, he's also one of two Niktos that are unmade from the skiffs, and since we can all probably agree that Hasbro has knocked this species out of the park (including, we assume, the forthcoming Klaatu), this one needs to happen. That leaves three human Skiff guards. One is named Gailid, and he has a rather unique outfit and hat. That's enough for me! Which leaves only two figures left, both unnamed humans. If Hasbro makes the Khetanna, and then decides to produce Vedain and Yotts, that leaves the four humans unmade. How about a HasLab 4 pack? There. Finished. Well done Hasbro!
Conclusion
So yesterday we looked at nine unproduced figures from the Sail Barge itself. Now we've just added six more figures from the Skiffs. As we said yesterday, it's unlikely most, if any, of these figures would get made, but if we help push the Khetanna past the finish line, then we might be able to complete the entire battle in figure form, and isn't that what life is all about?
So #backthebarge, not just by buying one, but by spreading the word by sharing everything you can, including this article, across social media. Use those share buttons, so we can raise awareness outside regular collecting circles.
Again, if you're curious about our overall priority list for unmade characters from Jabba's Palace and Sail Barge, they can be seen here:
