As revealed on The Star Wars Show yesterday, Timothy Zahn’s latest Thrawn novel, Star Wars: Thrawn: Treason (yeah, I get paid per colon, what of it?), is set for release in the Summer of 2019. The book will see bloom the seeds planted in the previous book as Thrawn is forced to choose between his own people and the Empire he has sworn to serve. Thrawn’s dilemma is magnified by the fact that his TIE Defender project has been cancelled in order to advance a certain super secret planet killer. Who needs a brilliant tactician when you can just blow stuff up real good? Eli Vanto is set to return from his mission to the Chiss Ascendancy; presumably Vader and the Emperor will have significant parts, and I for one would love to see Captain Pellaeon. This, along with the forthcoming Queen’s Shadow by E.K. Johnston and Master & Apprentice by Claudia Gray, makes me think that 2019 might be a great year for Star Wars novels.
