We haven't even taken down all the decorations from the Sail Barge campaign yet. The lights will probably just stay up until next year at this point. Despite the fact that the aroma of the Barge campaign still hangs in the air, we're already busy spitballing ideas for the next HasLab campaign in our forums. Such is the nature of fandom. We'll be satisfied when we're dead! The conversation naturally steered toward the Tatooine Skiff, but we came to the conclusion that it should NOT be a HasLab project.

Kill this mold. Kill it with fire if necessary. It must never come back!
It's a simple fact that the Tatooine Skiff must be modernized. We completely understand when vehicles don't hold as many figures as we'd like. We get that scaling compromises for vehicles have to be made, lest the sizes become impractical. But the "shrinkage" of the Tatooine Skiff goes beyond that. In areas, it can't effectively hold any figures. Specifically, a figure cannot stand facing the bow of the skiff between the railing and center console. It's simply too narrow. The figures have to be contorted in all manner of sorts to be able to use this space as described, despite the fact that this is ideally how they would be displayed.
So while the need for a new skiff is great, it shouldn't be a HasLab project. It should be a general release, and the timing is now! Well, soon, anyway. A great follow up to the Vintage Collection Assault Tank would be the Tatooine Skiff timed for release when the Sail Barge ships. It's a natural accessory for those that bought the Barge, and it would be a nice consolation prize for those that passed. Plus we have to suspect that next February will also be the perfect timing from a figure support perspective.
