Hi. My name is Carlo Velazquez.
I am originally from Cuernavaca, MX, but have found my home in Portland, OR.
Dark Lord I

Failure
I have always been obsessed with toys, for as long as I can remember. I recall sneaking them into my backpack to take to school to keep me happy throughout the day. This obsession has never stopped. I continue to collect to this day. When I met my now wife and we moved in together, she had asked me what he Hell I was going to do with all these Star Wars toys. She said I was hoarding toys and she was kind of right. I felt sad knowing that the toys I had been collecting my whole life, were just sitting in boxes, lifeless.

It was then that I took my passion for Star Wars toys, and my love of photography and cinematography, and started creating little scenes for my figures. Dioramas are my outlet. I spend hours and hours in my studio (aka my Batcave, aka the garage) bringing my toys, my passions, to life! Every single inch of my dioramas are made by hand, and are mostly recycled materials. I love finding the caps from my son's juice, or my wife’s old mascara wands and reusing then to make parts for engines or generators (even if it drives them crazy). The best part is putting everything together and sharing it with the world. Until I started doing dioramas and toy photography, I had no idea it existed.

Now I am part of a world where my childhood and my love for these toys, doesn’t have to rot away in a box in the closet. I am grateful for this community and the recognition that this is hard work and raw talent at its best. It’s also very comforting to know, that I am not the only adult still playing with Star Wars figures in the family garage.

Thank you for reading and viewing my photos. I hope they bring you back to a time when playing in the back yard with two plastic figures was all you needed in life.
May the Force be with you.
