Nick Deak, known as shakem78 on Instagram, was kind enough to share his time and work with Banthaskull.com.
My name is Nick Deak. I'm 39, father of two daughters, 13 and 20. I live in New Hampshire. I started this journey about 4 years ago when I was just in my work van and posted a stupid picture of my GI Joe Snake Eyes breakdancing. Next thing I know, someone left a hashtag #toyphotography, so I clicked on it and BAM! I saw the world of toy photography!
All Wookiees love to ride in the front seat with their heads out the window.
It was insane. I saw toys flying and doing crazy things, and I wanted to do just that! I was intrigued.
Ever since, I was hooked. Every time I do a shoot, I'm hunting for that one epic shot, which I've found that I'm always chasing. I think we all do that.
Battlefield Bliss
When I was a kid, I loved to draw. I was in art schools and competitions. Then, when I became a teenager, I kind of lost interest in it. Then later on in life when I was about 30, my grandmother gave me her old 35 mm film camera and said, "I want you to express your arts through the lens."
Riders on a storm
I played around with the camera. I liked doing it but it wasn't until I saw toy photography that I was inspired to use it more.

I wish that she was still around so she could see what has come of it she knew before I knew.
He sits alone with his gun in hand wondering his true purpose in life
Every day I shoot, I can be just chilling, then all of a sudden I get an idea in my head and I try and make it happen. It's like an addiction.
These two shots are my favorite pictures that I took.
Chewy's first time in the city he's so amazed by all the cars big buildings and people.
That was a pretty good plan.
Editor's Note: Who snuck in that Star Lord picture!? I'll allow it!
We are grateful to Nick for sharing about himself as well as his tremendous photography talents.
