If you're going to reach out for allies within the Star Wars fan community, we say go big or go home. It would honestly be negligent of us if we didn't ask our friends at Jedi Temple Archives, one of the very biggest collecting sites out there, to join #FightForTVC campaign, given their massive readership.
So how is JTA in this fight? Well in many ways, they are the fight. Banthaskull (Chris in particular) often tries to caution the 3.75" community against fatalism. We know things look bleak, but we all have to resist giving up. But Chris has a confession. In 2015, when the 3.75" Star Wars line was relegated to a handful of new sculpts in the drab and depressing Black Series boxed line, he gave up. Frankly, Bret sort of did the same. By the time the first run of TVC was dead, and there was almost zero direction or cohesion in the line, he also stopped paying attention. His collecting habits were basically reduced to texting Chris asking him if this figure or that figure was new, or a repaint, and should he get it. For a couple of years (heretofore called the "Dark Times"), Banthaskull was barely producing any content. So when we caution against fatalism, it's not a holier than thou position. It's more along the lines of caution against making the same mistakes we did.
So while we had nearly given up, what was Paul Harrison doing during this time? He was fighting for a return to TVC. Not once. Not twice. But continually and tirelessly and at every interaction with Hasbro. Some fire their shot and walk away. Paul basically wouldn't take "no" for an answer. We have a feeling if any current or former brand team members are reading that previous sentence, they are giving a nod of acknowledgement. Paul was even specifically cited for his TVC advocacy during the 2017 SDCC presentation announcing the line's return.
So thank you to Paul and Jedi Temple Archives for leading the fight for TVC's return then, and for supporting the #FightForTVC now.
