Walmart (Kind of) Delivers Din Djarin

First and foremost, Doug Pederson sucks. Is it his fault the Giants didn't make the playoffs? Of course not. But at least play the damn game!

Secondly, I've been gone from Banthaskull for a while since I've been VERY busy over the past 2 months. To be more specific, in mid November I accepted a new job in Phoenix and a mere 5 weeks later, I started that new job. During that time, my wife and I sold our house in Jersey, packed up our belongings, drove 2500 miles with our two dogs, and got settled into our new apartment. Starting a new job at a new company and moving into a new home in a town where we know exactly zero people has been quite an upheaval, and has left me with just about no free time to participate in my beloved hobby. To make matters worse, for at least the near term, I don't really have access to my Star Wars collection. As we are temporarily downsized into a one bedroom apartment until we get comfortable with the area and decide on a neighborhood to buy a house. So in the meantime, for the second time in my life, my collection is in storage. Unlike last time, it's only 5 minutes away. I actually hope to spend some time organizing the storage room in such a way where I might be able to set up a makeshift photo studio and resume my efforts to keep up the photo galleries.

And finally, what does this have to do with Walmart? Well, I have been aware of all the drama surrounding Hasbro's Valued Partner's inability to get their TVC exclusives to fans who pre-ordered. My situation may be somewhat of an outlier, but I got 2 Din Djarin figures in the mail today. I had pre-ordered a while back just like everyone else, and did so using my address in New Jersey, before I had any notion of moving. When it came time for me to do so, I took the time to update my shipping address for all of my outstanding orders from places like Amazon, BigBadToyStore, and Hasbro Pulse. The total effort amounted to about 5 minutes, and I was good to go. However, the Neanderthals at Walmart gave me no option to update my shipping address. After much agita, the best answer I could get from customer service was to cancel my pre-order and then re-order the item with my new address in Phoenix. This, as you know, wasn't possible because the items were already "pre-sold out." (George Carlin is rolling over in his grave.)

So I hung on to my Din and Incinerator Trooper pre-orders, hoping that things would work out somehow, and I would eventually either be able to update the address, or maybe my old neighbors or nearby family could retrieve the delivered packages from my old house. But randomly, I saw in mid December that Din Djarin had popped up again on the Walmart web site for pre-order. I decided to give it a shot, ordered 4 new ones, and canceled my original order.

It seems that many people have been getting cancellation notices for both Din Djarin and the Incinerator Trooper (which I have still not updated or cancelled, and is currently out of stock on Walmart.com). [Editor's Note: He's drunk. There are no reports of canceled Incinerator Troopers...yet.] I wasn't sure how it would work out for me, but I didn't get the cancellation notice. Today, 2 of the 4 Din Djarin figures I had ordered showed up at my new address. I'm not sure of the status of the other 2 figures I ordered at the same time, but at least these arrived safely.

Anyway, Walmart is the worst (except for Doug Pederson), and I know I got lucky here. But if you managed to order the figure when it went up a second time in December, you might also get lucky and receive a delivery soon. I would suggest being on the lookout for both figures to reappear on the Walmart web site. [Editor's Note: I told you he's drunk.]
