Today you were supposed to be reading my long overdue review of Jedi Survivor (spoiler alert: I like it), but something fairly momentous happened yesterday that is preempting it. That review will have to wait until Tuesday. Our friends at Yak Face pointed out that the recently released Vintage Collection Darth Vader (Death Star II) was in-stock and available for shipping from Amazon. It could still be ordered as shipped and old by Amazon, but it was for a January preorder.
That was just before 11 o'clock last night. Because I'm a creature of habit, I checked again Thursday morning, and that second pre-order allotment was sold out too. It could only be ordered from a third party pre-sale for $30. I did the "surprised" meme face:

Of all the new action figure releases on the world's second largest retailer, the Vintage Collection Darth Vader (Death Star II) was the best seller.
While credit for this accomplishment fully goes to Hasbro and their designers and sculptors, I do take a little pride in it because it's a figure that I (among many others) have long been campaigning for, having written about it most recently HERE. This bolsters my belief that the safest bet for tooling investment is core OT characters. So congratulations are in order, but Hasbro, if you want a repeat performance of this success:
